Janisol
Janisol is the name of a family of steel profile systems from Jansen, a Swiss system provider. It includes thermally broken lines for doors, windows and lift-and-slide doors. Jansen is the system provider whose profiles I specify.
A system provider designs and tests the profiles, gaskets and hardware options. A separate fabricator builds the finished windows and doors from them. Janisol is the Jansen name for its steel line, much as other system providers name their aluminum lines.
The lines I quote
| Line | Typical use |
|---|---|
| Janisol HI | Entrance and French doors, windows, large fixed glazing |
| Janisol lift-and-slide | Large sliding glass doors |
| Janisol Arte 2.0 | Slimmest sections, arched and heritage-style work |
These are real steel, thermally broken systems. They are not the aluminum steel-look systems I also source, and I keep the two names apart. The systems, sections and quoted configurations are on the steel systems pages, and the overview is on real steel windows and doors.
Related terms: real steel and thermally broken steel.
Common questions
- Do you sell Jansen directly?
- No. Jansen is only the system provider whose Janisol profiles I specify for real steel. I am an independent agent, and the finished units are built by a fabricator from those profiles.
- Which Janisol lines do you quote?
- I quote Janisol HI for doors and windows, a Janisol lift-and-slide door, and Janisol Arte 2.0 for slim and arched or heritage-style work. The details are on the steel systems pages.
