Overview

What makes the Janisol Arte 2.0
stand out.

Arte 2.0 is Jansen's slimline steel: fixed glazing with a face under 1 in, welded steel half profiles with a glass-fibre-reinforced thermal break, and true divided lites formed by steel bars. It was developed to reproduce historic steel windows and is the system I look at for arched tops, small-format glazing and heritage proportions. It trades some thermal performance and size against Janisol HI. The reference configuration is an arched 42 x 96 in single door weighing about 267 lb.

This is real steel. The slim aluminum systems on my steel-look windows page are a different product: lighter, with a steel-inspired profile. See the real steel windows and doors guide for how the two compare.

  • Heritage and loft proportions with a thermal break
  • Reference configuration: arched 42 x 96 in door with an 8 in rise
  • Stainless and Corten finishes per Jansen documentation, availability confirmed per project

Ideal For

Arched doors and windows, small-format divided-light glazing, renovation work with a heritage elevation, and interior steel partitions in the same section.

Consider an Alternative When

Janisol HI for larger openings and stronger thermal performance; aluminum systems for large panes and budget. Arte is a delicate system and is not meant for big picture windows.

2.36 in (60 mm)

Fixed-glazing face

From 0.98 in (25 mm)

Vent face

0.79 in (20 mm); meeting stile 2.36 in

Glass thickness

Openings

Doors, side-hung windows, fixed glazing, arched tops

Reference configuration

Documentation

European (EN) test data; not a US rating. Confirmed per project

Arte 2.0 frames carry higher thermal values than Janisol HI, and double glazing will not meet every northern energy-code path. I compare the numbers against your climate zone and code path before you order.

Sizes are modest per vent. I confirm the maximum for your opening against Jansen documentation before drawings are approved.

European test classes are not NFRC ratings.

Options for your project

Doors

Single and double leaf doors with side lights and top lights, and arched or segmental heads.

Windows

Side-hung, pivot and fixed windows in a very slim face. Arched windows are possible.

Divided lights

Steel bars form true divided lights on the reference arched door.

Finish

Powder coat in a RAL color. Stainless and Corten are documented by Jansen; availability is confirmed per project.

Janisol Arte 2.0: your questions

How thin is the face?

Jansen documents fixed-glazing faces from 0.98 in and vents at 0.79 in, the slimmest in the Janisol range. The exact faces for your elevation are shown on the shop drawings.

How is arched glass made?

Arched glass is cut to the shape of the head and the steel section follows it. Arch geometry and glass lead-time drivers are confirmed per project, so I do not promise a figure.

What are the thermal trade-offs against Janisol HI?

Arte 2.0 frames have higher thermal values and take thinner glass, so double glazing is typical. If your climate zone or energy-code path needs better numbers, I would price Janisol HI for the same opening.

Can the arched head be a window?

Yes, arched windows are part of the documented range. Send the drawing and I confirm the system and sizes before you commit.
